Privacy & tracking
Clear about what is collected, and why.
This portfolio uses first-party analytics to understand which pages, shared links and contact paths are useful. Visitors in the UK/EEA are asked before analytics begins; elsewhere it starts by default and can be changed through Privacy choices. The site does not sell personal data, run ad retargeting, scrape social profiles or use browser fingerprinting.

Information collected
When analytics is allowed, the site records anonymous activity such as pages viewed, referral source, campaign parameters, device category, browser family, timezone, active time, scroll milestones and selected actions. It does not record raw IP addresses, keystrokes, exact mouse movement, contacts, account identities or exact location.
When someone submits an enquiry, the form collects the details they provide, such as name, email, company or brand, website, LinkedIn profile, message and any optional project context. If analytics is enabled, high-level source and page-journey context may be attached to that enquiry.
Tracked links
Links shared through social posts, campaigns or one-to-one outreach may first pass through a short tracking redirect. The redirect records the link open and then sends the browser to the clean destination URL. For private outreach links, activity after the redirect is only connected to that link when analytics is enabled. A private link indicates activity from that link; it does not prove a particular person performed every action.
Cookies and preferences
Essential storage keeps the site secure and remembers privacy choices. Analytics uses first-party, random identifiers to measure sessions and return visits. UK/EEA visitors receive a compact first-visit choice and analytics remains off until they allow it. Visitors elsewhere have analytics enabled by default and can turn it off or change the choice through the site's privacy settings.
How information is used
- To understand what content and work visitors find useful.
- To measure campaign and shared-link performance.
- To respond to voluntary project enquiries.
- To improve the portfolio, articles and contact flow.
Retention and rights
Raw anonymous analytics is kept for a limited period and then summarised where practical. Enquiry data is retained only while it is relevant to a conversation, business record or legal obligation. You may ask to access, correct or delete contact information, withdraw marketing consent, or ask questions about this policy by emailing hello@thekaransoni.com.
Third parties and security
The portfolio uses Supabase to store CMS content, submitted enquiries and first-party analytics records. The site does not use advertising pixels by default. Reasonable technical safeguards are used to limit access to CMS and stored information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
